Iron On

Iron On

As early as the 1st century BC metal pans were filled with charcoal for smoothing fabrics. Throughout history irons have been used in many different forms, whether heated by gas flame, a stove plate or in the case of the modern iron heated by electricity. Henry W Seely patented the electric iron in 1882, and today in the industrial world the iron is a common electrical household item.

Korbond Iron On products are deep rooted into the history of the company; Henry Korski was an engineer and his wife a chemist. Together they expanded the business to become a major coater and laminator of textiles for the garment and shoe trade, specialising in thermo plastic coatings. Various products were developed including different types of fusible interlinings, belt backing, bra strapping, shoe and garment labels and curtain linings. The knowledge passed down by Henry and his wife has formed the basis of our “iron on” technology and expertise that we are still proud to promote with today’s extensive range of products.

The Iron On range provides a "sew free solution" alternative to more traditional methods of altering and mending.
