Buttons/Snaps

A Button is a small disc, typically round, object usually sewn to an article of clothing in order to secure an opening, or for embellishment. The buttons work by slipping the button through a hole in the fabric or thread loop, or by sliding the button through a reinforced slit called a buttonhole. Buttons come in various sizes and types, from shank buttons, covered buttons to the more common flat two or four hole buttons.

A snap fastener (Popper or Press Stud) is a pair of interlocking discs used in place of buttons, zips or Velcro to fasten clothing. A circular lip under one disc fits into a groove on the top of the other, holding them fast. Snap fasteners are often used in children's clothing, as they are relatively easy for youngsters to use, however it is becoming more popular to use both buttons and snap fasteners for crafting projects.

The Korbond range of buttons and snap fasteners provide a core range of fastening solutions in the most popular colours and sizes.
