Press Tape

Korbond Press Tape Range

Press Tape was originally invented in 1948 by a Swiss engineer whilst walking his dog. The idea arose to him when he noticed ‘sticky buds’ attaching themselves to the coat of the animal. After looking closely at the seed pods he noticed tiny ‘hooks’ that interlocked with the ‘loop’ of the dog’s fur. Thus the creation of hook & loop.

Hook and Loop consists of two pieces of fabric, one covered in tiny mushroom headed fibres (hooks) and the other side in tiny loops. When the two sides are pressed together the ‘hooks’ attach themselves to the ‘loop’ to form a semi-permanent bond.

Available in sew on, iron on and stick on variety, the strips and assorted handy dot shapes can be used in a multitude of applications. For example curtain pelmets, clothing and other light weight material where a semi permanent fastening is required.
