Scissors
Modern scissors were invented in Rome in about 100 AD, although they were not commonly used until around 1500 AD. Leonardo da Vinci has been credited for re-introducing scissors, supposedly to cut out parts of his canvas that he did not feel were good enough! Filmmaker Tim Burton had a life-long fascination with scissors, calling them an interesting invention. His interest in scissors prompted the creation of his movie Edward Scissorhands
