Polyester thread is ideal for hand and machine stitching and most suitable for synthetic fabrics or fabrics with greater elasticity or movement. Use cotton thread for light to medium-weight fabrics that have little or no stretch to them. Cotton thread will not "give," and the stitches may break if used on a stretchy knit fabric.
For a thread with ‘no shrinkage’ and excellent colour fastness, the Korbond range of polyester threads, available in a popular range of colour choices, cannot be beaten. Traditional polyester threads in longer lengths for machine or hand use are also available in a variety of colours.
